SCADA Data test harness

The Communication Protocol Test Harness is a Windows application that simulates a typical Master or Slave device. It can be used to verify proper operation of drivers for DNP3, Modbus, and IEC 60870-5 protocols.

The Test Harness conforms to the following protocol specifications:

• DNP3 - Distributed Network Protocol
• IEC 60870-5-101 - Basic telecontrol tasks
• IEC 60870-5-102 - Metering
• IEC 60870-5-103 - Protection Relays
• IEC 60870-5-104 - Network access (TCP/IP) for IEC 60870-5-101
• Modbus
• OPC Data Access 1.0a and 2.0

• The Communication Protocol Test Harness is a Windows application that simulates Master or Outstation devices, monitors communications, or performs custom functional tests.
• Configured through a Graphical User Interface (GUI) or Tcl/Tk scripts to provide automated testing. Example applications are included.
• A configurable database of simulation points allows emulation of standard off-the -shelf devices.
• Additional instrumentation such as voltage or current generators can be controlled to
• automatically establish a test condition and confirm the expected results through the communication protocol.
• Optional module is available to automatically perform the Conformance Test Procedures published by the technical committees of each protocol.
