SAEAUT SNMP OPC Server

For management of the network equipments SNMP manager working on workstation and SNMP agent running on network equipment are used. To be able to integrate this network management into the various HMI or SCADA systems, which include OPC clients, it is very useful to implement SNMP manager into the runtime application of the OPC server.

How to use the SAEAUT SNMP OPC Server?
SNMP OPC server allows operators to obtain information about the state of devices that form communication computer network. Then, operator can use this information for the diagnosis of network or solving system problems.

SNMP OPC Server has implemented the newest specifications - OPC DA 3.0 and OPC XML DA, which allow clients to communicate with server using web services.

Not all network devices are SNMP manageable. SNMP OPC server is able to configure OPC tags for such devices. These tags are defined as heartbeat, and they can obtain time of response of device. This feature of SNMP OPC Server allows obtaining basic information about the state of the unmanageable devices.

Manageable SNMP devices can also send data without the request from these applications - traps, (for example when the value is changed), to the management applications. In this way they reduce the requirements for communication between SNMP agent and SNMP manager. SNMP OPC Server supports receiving data by these "traps".
