EDMONTON, CANADA, January 31, 2010 - The OPC Training Institute (www.opcti.com), the world's largest OPC training provider, announced today that it will be hosting, in conjunction with the OPC Foundation and Emerson, a webinar on the launch of OPC Express Interface (OPC Xi).
OPC Express Interface (OPC Xi) is the newest OPC specification from the OPC Foundation. Based on Microsoft’s .NET framework, OPC Xi enables a smooth migration from Classic OPC and eliminates the need for tunneling.
"Much the same way the OPC Foundation provided the OPC Automation interfaces and .NET SDK toolkit for classic OPC, we recognized something similar was needed based on Microsoft’s WCF technology," says Tom Burke, President of the OPC Foundation. "The Xi interfaces meet that need."
OPCTI will hold a webinar on OPC Xi in early 2010. This webinar will be cost-free and available to anyone who registers (OPC Xi webinar). The webinar will be held in various time zones to cater to OPC users around the world. Hands-on OPC Xi training will also be available in 2010.
