The DHX OPC Server is a compliance-certified server for all Allen-Bradley networks. It supports the Data Access, Alarms & Events, and XML Data Access specifications. It is available in two packages: the DHX OPC Server Suite and the DHX OPC Premier Suite. The DHX OPC Premier Suite includes everything you get in the DHX OPC Server Suite, plus the Math & Logic and OPC Crosslink features.
The DHX OPC Premier Suite includes, on a single DVD, Cyberlogic’s OPC Server and its complete set of DHX device drivers for A-B industrial networks. The server communicates with any combination of controllers using any combination of A-B networks. Because the suite includes all of the needed pieces, installation is simple and easy. You are assured that all components are compatible and all are at the same revision level. And, as with all Cyberlogic software products, you get unlimited free technical support from Cyberlogic.
The single-supplier approach allows Cyberlogic to optimize communications at the driver, transaction, and server levels. The resulting speed and network-load performance is superior to competing “mix-and-match” server setups. In addition, the server offers unsolicited data updates with advanced message filtering from unwanted data sources to eliminate the need for polling while ensuring data integrity and security.
This is the server of choice for mission-critical applications, because you can lose a network connection, a controller or even an entire network and still get the data you need. To achieve this, the DHX OPC Server allows you to set up an unlimited number of redundant networks and controllers. The server monitors the health of every path used to access data, and automatically chooses the highest-priority path with a verified reliable connection.
Key benefits:
The DHX OPC Premier Suite gives you all of the benefits and capabilities of the DHX OPC Server Suite, but adds two powerful features:
OPC Math & Logic lets you write programs to perform mathematical or logical operations on any data items that are available to the OPC server. The results are available as OPC data to any attached OPC client. With OPC Math & Logic, you write the programs in the server, where all of the data is available in one location, so the programs can be written one time, with one editor, using one language. You won’t have multiple versions to maintain in multiple locations. Cyberlogic’s C-Logic™ programming language is similar to C, so it is easy to learn. It also provides functions, data types, editing tools and debugging aids that you won’t find in PLCs or client applications. And because the programs are compiled, they run far faster than is possible with interpreted code.
OPC Crosslink allows the DHX OPC Server to communicate with any OPC DA Server—any brand or revision level—just as it does with PLCs. It also allows the OPC server to pass data to and from any of the connected devices. That means you can configure the server to be an OPC data concentrator, bridge data between PLCs or OPC servers, or even bridge data between OPC servers and PLCs. When combined with an MBX OPC Server, you can pass data between Allen-Bradley and Modicon controllers. And because the DHX OPC Premier Suite takes advantage of Cyberlogic’s built-in redundancy features, you can use it to set up server-level redundancy. For full details of the OPC Crosslink capabilities, please refer to the description of the OPC Crosslink Suite.
