Cyberlogic Announces New OPC Math & Logic Feature All version 7.1 products come in both 32-bit and 64-bit editions, providing full support for all 64-bit operating systems
Troy, Michigan, October 11, 2010 - Cyberlogic, the leading independent supplier of OPC server and industrial communication software, announced this week the release of version 7.1 for the company's entire line of OPC software products.
The most significant addition in version 7.1 is the real-time, compiled Math & Logic feature the company has unveiled. Cyberlogic's implementation of Math & Logic allows users to write programs in the C-logic™ programming language. These programs can include complex mathematical and logical functions that operate on one or more data items. The results appear as data items that are available to the OPC clients.
"Basic OPC servers may provide a limited ability to simulate data or convert the values into engineering units, but rely on the client software to handle more complex calculations", says Dan Muller, Director of Product Development at Cyberlogic. According to Muller, "a far better approach is to use Cyberlogic's Math & Logic to process the data in the OPC server. This lets you program the calculations and logical functions once for the entire system. You do the programming one time, in one place, using a single editor and programming language."
Cyberlogic claims that the company's Math & Logic implementation includes many advanced features, some of which are unique to Cyberlogic. Here are just a few of them:
Math & Logic is a feature of Cyberlogic's DHX OPC Premier Suite, MBX OPC Premier Suite and OPC Crosslink Premier Suite.
Cyberlogic also announced full support for all 64-bit Windows platforms following the recent release of 64-bit editions of the company's best-selling OPC server suites. Shipping all products in both 32-bit and 64-bit editions, Cyberlogic offers an easy migration path for the users moving to x64 Windows platforms. The 64-bit editions of Cyberlogic OPC suites provide native 64-bit support, including 64-bit kernel-mode device drivers, for all x64 Windows operating systems, including Windows 7, Vista, XP, Server 2003, and Server 2008. To provide support for legacy 32-bit applications, the 64-bit OPC suites provide dual-interface support, enabling concurrent operation of both 32-bit and 64-bit OPC client applications in x64 Windows operating systems.
With the addition of the new 64-bit kernel mode device drivers to Cyberlogic's OPC server suites, users can now deploy 64-bit systems, regardless of the type of network or network adapter used in their installations. In fact, a mixture of the 32-bit and 64-bit editions of the company's OPC products can be deployed in distributed environments with 100% compatibility and interoperability.
Thanks to the dual interface provided in the 64-bit editions, legacy 32-bit client applications and new 64-bit client applications can operate concurrently in the same x64 Windows machine.
Cyberlogic's DHX and MBX OPC Server Suites come with all the required device drivers for all Allen-Bradley and Modicon networks and PLCs. Cyberlogic ships both the 32-bit and 64-bit editions of the software on the same product disc. The users do not need to specify which version to purchase, or even which to install. During installation, the operating system is automatically detected and the required version of the software is installed.
All Cyberlogic products can be downloaded for a free trial at www.cyberlogic.com. To minimize download file sizes, the 32-bit and 64-bit editions are offered separately on the company's website.
Cyberlogic OPC Products are "Certified for Compliance" by the OPC Foundation Cyberlogic was the first company to obtain certification for its products from the OPC Foundation's independent certification test lab. The certification process covers compliance and interoperability testing, load and performance testing, stress testing, white box testing, behavior testing, and environment and usability testing.
The Foundation awards "Compliance Certified" status to a product when all interfaces it supports have passed all of the independent lab tests. Cyberlogic's DHX, MBX, and OPC Crosslink Suites are the first OPC products authorized to carry the OPC Foundation's "Certified" logo.
Cyberlogic is the leading independent supplier of OPC server and industrial communication software, with more than a quarter-million copies shipped to 130 countries.
Cyberlogic OPC Server Suites are integrated, all-in-one products. Their built-in reliability features allow the configuration of an unlimited number of redundant OPC servers, redundant networks and redundant devices. Cyberlogic's Universal OPC Server includes a Health Monitor that continuously verifies the operation of each OPC server, network and device, automatically switching to backups when there is a problem. The built-in unsolicited messaging feature allows the configuration of an unlimited number of nodes that can initiate unsolicited data transmission, eliminating the need for polling for data.
All components of Cyberlogic OPC Suites are developed by Cyberlogic, and all required device drivers are integrated into the Suites. The products do not require any third-party add-ons.
